This is a very special item that we're thrilled to offer in this year's auction. This is one of 500 copies of a limited edition of Norman Maclean's classic novella, A River Runs Through It. It is signed by Maclean. Copies of this edition are nearly impossible to find. A River Runs Through It is arguably the most important piece of writing about fly fishing and it has a place in the heart of fly anglers and book lovers alike. This special edition was produced by the University of Chicago some time after the original edition was published to celebrate its place in American literature. The donor is a former bookseller at Seattle's renowned University Bookstore. He has kept this book from the time it was originally published and now has generously donated it to Reeling in Serenity to include in our auction. We're extremely grateful. This is one of the most extraordinary items we have ever included in the history of the auction. It is an amazing item to buy for oneself or as a gift to an angler or book lover.
