This fantastic box of flies was tied and donated by Jane Retherford, a member of Colorado Women Flyfishers (CWF), Fly Fishers International, Black Hills Fly Fishers, and Dakota Trout Unlimited. She ties at the Denver Fly Fishing Show, The International Sportsmen’s Exposition (ISE), the Colorado TU “Troutfest”, and various Trout Unlimited Expos throughout Colorado.  She attended the 2023 Fly Fishers International Fly Tying Group Rendezvous in Branson, Missouri, the 2025 International Fly Tying Symposium in New Jersey, and the 2026 International Sowbug Rendezvous in Arkansas. Her pattern “Colorado Potato Beetle” (included in this box) won Best Dry Fly at the March 2026 Sowbug. Her goal is to get more women and children involved in fly tying. She volunteers to teach women fly tying with CWF and teaches Veterans to tie flies with Project Healing Waters. She donates hundreds of flies annually to the International Tie-a-Thon.  She is a member of the Pro Team for Solarez UV resin and Daiichi hooks. The Montana Fly Company (MFC) “Larko’s Chrome Mayfly” (artwork by Andrea Larko) contains 109 flies. Jane’s specialty is tying with foam and UV resins. Many of the patterns included in this box are her own creations. Included are:

Ladybugs; red Longhorn beetles; chartreuse foam beetles; ladybugs (various colors); Colorado Potato beetles; sinking ants. Jane has donated every year to the Reeling in Serenity auction and every year she outdoes herself. This is a box of flies that will bring visual and fishing pleasure.
