| Looking to get started in fly fishing but don't know where to start? Fly Fishing Foundations is a one-day small group course that takes the stress out of learning and puts the fun front and center. This six-hour experience is limited to just six students and we hope that a group of aspiring fly anglers will buy it together. You'll receive personal attention from your instructor, Callie Freeman, a PhD entomologist and NC-certified fly fishing instructor with over a decade of experience teaching adults and making learning fun. Here's what you'll experience: 

GEAR UP-Learn the essentials of fly fishing equipment. CONNECT-Master basic knots and rigging to get you fishing. BUG OUT-Discover the biology of aquatic insects and practice "matching the hatch". CAST AWAY-Build casting skills with 3 full hours of instruction tailored for your group. The class is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to guild a solid foundation. Leave the day feeling confident, inspired and ready for the next adventure! 

Callie is based in Easley, South Carolina, which is within a couple of hours of many great fishing locations in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and South Carolina. This would be a great experience for members of a regional fly fishing club or for a family looking to learn how to fly fish together.
